Late Company is written by Jordan Tannahill, a playwright, author, and director born and raised in Ottawa. The play is set in a suburb of Ottawa and has been described by Tom Wicker as “harrowingly powerful... a superb play, which deals compassionately yet unflinchingly with grief’s desperate search for an answer to the question: Why?” When Debora and Michael Shaun-Hastings invite the Demotts and their son Curtis over for dinner, closure is the intended goal. As the evening devolves into heated accusations, deep-seated tensions are revealed, forcing each person to confront painful truths about themselves and their role in the tragedy that has brought them together.
