By John Patrick Shanley (book and lyrics) and Henry Krieger (music)
February 10 to 20, 2016
Tuesday-Sunday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.
From the Oscar and Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Moonstruck and Doubt and the two-time Tony-nominated composer of Dreamgirls comes this crackpot musical romance. Connie is newlywed for the third time, but her exes are back in the picture and not sure they approve of the union. Carl is trying to clean up his past so he can move on with his life. Mary is climbing Frankie’s fire escape with amorous erotic intent. Fred, a dishwasher poet, travels to the suburbs to confront an old flame. Red just wants to stop driving the bus. They are all mad, and they are all sane, and they are all creating Romantic Poetry.
“It’s a story about the value of poetry, the lack of it in our lives now, and what it might be to consider bringing it back.
