’33 is a cabaret of ghosts – a performance piece recreating the final night in a Kabarett destroyed by the Nazis in Berlin in 1933. A Master of Ceremonies pays homage to his disappeared friends. ’33connects that period of repression with attacks on culture happening around the world. It debuted in May of this year at the Orlando Fringe Festival and has been performed at festivals across the country.
’33 has already received critical acclaim like “’33 is a gem of a show, frozen in a moment in time — the rise of fascism in the 1930s — but also beautifully frozen in that moment between rational thought and madness” (The Orlando Sentinel) and “a stunning theatrical accomplishment” (VUE Magazine, Edmonton.) It won a Fabulous Award at the Orlando Festival 2011, Best Show-Impresario Award at the London Fringe Theatre Festival 2011 and Best Actor in Festival at the London Fringe Theatre Festival.
